I got sidetracked!!

Me, yes!!

We went to seminar and got home and I have been pushing to get all my ducks in a row so I can put in my letter for Director in Qualification!  Or as we say DIQ!!

Why would I want to do that?

It's one of those because things. I want it because I can talk to more women. I want it because I can keep up with all that's new! I want it because of the money.

Does that make me SASSY or just greedy?

I know I don't want it because I am greedy, because I have my reasons for needing that kind of income. I know that might not satisfy your interest, but that's all you're gonna get.

Needless to say--money is a good reason to work my buns off.

Being SASSY is to. And it's fun!!

SASSY is for everyone.

Just answer me this?  What is the word for a SASSY man?

And I can still be SASSY!!

Crowns

Saturday I got a new CROWN to go with the other 3 that I have won.

Today I am looking at my crown and crying!

WHY you ask.?

Because I am realizing that now have a responsibility to be the BEST that I can be.

I am responsible to all of you to tell the truth--to keep those little white lies to myself---to be gracious at ALL times and to be me.

That's a hard row to hoe.

But you know what----being SASSY will go a long way to keep me on the right path.

Sassy women are ALREADY worth of a crown. They know who they are---they know that deliberately hurting someone is NOT the way to win crowns---they are content with who THEY are and are not going to do ANYTHING that will make them feel as if they had betrayed themselves.

CROWNS are the bomb.

Today---yes RIGHT NOW---look in a mirror and see that  crown on your head. FEEL the weight of it. YES it is heavy.

And look at it SPARKLE.

Those SPARKLES tell the world that YOU are important and YOU are a QUEEN..

I have been wondering

Sometimes I think I wonder too much.

I wonder about the weather and when it will get cool again. I wonder about Sarah and how her leg is -- she's our furry person and she seems to be having problems with her leg. I can't find any tender spots though.

I wonder about Jerry and why he can't remember things anymore.

And then I wonder about why Jesus came and set me free.

I wonder.

When I was MUCH younger

When I was  little girl I was afraid of everything. Are any of you like that?
My mom drank a LOT. and that caused gobs of problems between my mom and dad. He even had to tie her to the bed sometimes to keep her from harming herself. I think she must have had those bad dreams that drinkers have.

Anyway, whatever it was, I was scared a lot. I must admit I wasn't happy about those things that went on, but my older brother helped me to realize that it was maybe not OK, but that was how things were.

So, as I got older that fear stayed with me. I would walk to school backward!! Crazy stuff like that. I would scrub my face until it was bright red---and then put alcohol on it so that I wouldn't have any pimples. OOH how that would burn.

NOT good.

FEAR will make us do strange, crazy things.

One day two of my friends were playing in the trees. NO, they were NOT monkeys. We just climbed trees. Remember this is in the days before TV, WII, cell phones or computers.

We made out own games. I liked to climb trees, probably because my mom didn't come after me.

My point is this -- My friends told me that they had taken Jesus into their lives and I wanted to be like them -- because they were happy.

That's the day that confidence came into my life. Because, with Jesus on my side NOTHING can come against me!

CONFIDENCE galore. Churned up and put back into my mind.

I love it.

Do you want some -- let me know.

Some times I wonder----

I learned something yesterday.

It;s not the size of your bank account
It's not the amount of people in your team
It's the size of your DREAM that will get you where you want to be.

So -- lady friend -- get a BIG DREAM and stick to it.

Don't give up and don't forget your dream.

Make posters of what YOU want and put them all over .

Take a picture of your dream poster and put in as your lock screen image.

Do it!!

AND DO IT NOW!!!!

Want to know something?

I really hope that not one of you have gotten the wrong idea about what being Sassy is -- or isn't. I would not like to think I had lead anyone in the wrong direction.

I think of a SASSY woman as being happy with who SHE is.

It doesn't really matter what others think of your wardrobe. Does it??

Think about that!!

Answer these few questions.

Do you wear outfits that YOU feel good in???

Do YOU like the color??

Do YOU like how the clothes feel on YOU???

Do you stand in front of the mirror and think about what your boyfriend would think about what you have on??

Are you worried about what he would think??

Are your scared of his reaction or just excited about it??

Honestly ask yourself these questions.

Now be honest!!

SASSY is all about you!

SASSY is----

I'd rather be sassy because sassy can be so many things.

Like, when a friend is down SASSY knows just what to say-----and when to say it. And isn't afraid to say something that might make them cry. And you too.

SASSY is wearing a lime green blouse with an orangey red suit!!!

SASSY is accessorizing the outfit with Turquoise jewelry and lime green shoes.

SASSY will take up for the person being bullied because they KNOW what's right and bullying is NOT right.

And a SASSY woman -- believe it or not -- knows when to keep her mouth shut.

Sassy is a noun AND a verb

When I used to teach 3rd grade kids this is the way I explained nouns and verbs.

A noun is who or what it is about.

A verb is what it does, so that means SASSY is both a noun and a verb!!

WHY?? you ask.

I'm here to tell you why.

Women who are SASSY know it. We call them SASSY!! Sometimes because we like them and sometimes because we don't.  Know what I mean???\

And SASSY is a verb because SASSY makes us act differently. We walk differently.  We smile more.  We wave at EVERYONE!!

SASSY is!!!!

How many of us ARE SASSY???

Have you ever been around THOSE kind of women?  You know the ones---yeah you do!!

The ones who have a smile on their lips---but NEVER in their eyes. The woman who works but never has time for husband or kids. The woman who has a house keeper, so she never knows what's going on in her own house, because a house does not a home make.

Do you remember the lunch date that Sandra Bullock had in The Blindside with her "friends"? You know the ones I mean. The lunch date where the women sit around and do nothing but push their very EXPENSIVE salads around their plates and gossip about EVERYONE!!

These are not sassy women.  These are MEAN women.

"X" marks the spot! STAY AWAY from women like that. They are not your friend as Mrs. Tuey, aka Sandra Bullock, found out. She wasn't doing it to THEIR standards, ideals or ideas of how IT should be done.

POISON!!  XXXXX

It rubs off!!!

Sassy isn't necessarily pretty

If you're thinking that you have to be spammy clean---every hair in place---nails done----best jewelry on---dressed to please anyone else---you are wrong.  REALLY wrong!

Sassy is confident---we don't dress for anyone unless it is OUR idea.

We don't spend hours in the beauty shop---unless we want to.

We don't spend thousands on one outfit--unless it is just what WE want.

Sassy means we are ourselves.

Take us like you find us.

We expect our significant other to listen to us as we tell them all about this movie we have seen.

We expect to have that same significant other to apologize to us if they have hurt us in ANY way.

We will not stay around anyone who is abusive.

We are woman and watch us RoAR!!!

Sassy is an attitude

Have you ever tried to be assertive----and things didn't go too well?

Have you ever wanted to smash someones face in because they wrote terrible things on the windows of your car?

Have you ever tried on 3 shades of lip gloss and NONE of them looked even remotely good on you?
And you still had to pay for them.

Well, our products have a 30 day guarantee. We also have lots and lots of samples for you to try.

So where does the attitude come in?

Have you ever even been asked at one of those department store makeup counters if you wanted a sample?

WHY? or rather why NOT???

Sassy would ask in a heart beat and then not go back if they didn't have the samples---of anything.

$2000 DAY

I'm going all out and saying I want to have a $2000 day on June 6th.

This is the skinny----all website sales have a 30% discount http://www.marykay.com/lgowan
 and all the text messages get a 25% discount.  580 656 5658.

All the profit goes to my friend who lost her home in the tornado that went through Moore OK.

Let's make it a good day for her as she is a single mom with 3 kids.

About the translucent powder. Who wants one for free?

Friday, May 24, 2013

I got my answer

I think you really must like SASSY.

So we are gonna make it a little more SASSY!!

Have you ever put on your powder and you felt OLD?? Kinda like an old crone.

In case you don't know what a crone is, let me explain. Did you ever see Enchanted with Amy Adams and the hunky guy from Grey's Anatomy??? Remember the step mother who could turn herself into the UGLY OLD stooped woman? With the warts on her nose??

That's what I feel like when I put on powder. I feel OLD because my skin looks old. All that pigment goes in the tiny invisible lines and makes the lines VISIBLE!!!

YUCKO!!!!!

We have the new translucent powder!!!

OMG!  GOOD night !!

Is it good.

You can't feel it on your skin., It makes you look younger because ti is reflective (if you want to know how let me know) and it is ABSOLUTELY the way to go!!

It' white!!! You would think it would make your skin look white, ghostly almost, but it doesn't.

It just ;makes you look more beautiful.

It is WONDERFUL!!!

Yesterday is GONE!!

What's that old song "Yesterday's gone----"???

Well, it is and there is nothing you can do about it except move on.

So what does yesterday have to do with being SASSY?? Let me tell you!!

If you can leave behind the unkind words you spoke or someone said to you---if you can undo all the garbage that went on yesterday---YOU are on the way to SASSY!!

WHY?? you ask.

Because baggage will hold you down and SASSY is an UP.  You are UP! Your attitude is UP! Your feelings are UP!!

And UP is the way you, Pretty Lady, are going!!

You don't settle for anything now. No bad boyfriends!  No bad eating! No bad haircuts or clothes--no matter what you have to spend. The price ticket doesn't tell you who you are.  You can be SASSY on a dime!!

Believe me!! I've done it for years. The earrings I had the most complements on were the ones I paid a quarter for a a garage sale. My best purse I got at the Goodwill store for $7, and it's original cost was $100.

Believe me that SASSY comes from who you are on the inside--not how much you paid for it!!

What is CONFIDENCE???

What do you think confidence is? Me, I think it is the attitude of self worth. The KNOWING that I am capable!

I know who helps me every step of the way and that makes me grounded.

So -- where does your confidence come from?

Your face?

Your hair and makeup?

Your clothing?

Your ability to tell a joke, or cook, or keep house???

Where ever it comes from, there is still one question that needs to be asked and that is -- what am I doing that makes me confident?\

In other words, we have to know OURSELVES!!!

Our beauty will fade. Our finances will change, we might loose our ability to cook or keep house.
So, we have to know where that confidence comes from.

I know that I feel more confident when I have on my makeup. But, the longer I think about who I am and what I need to do and what I have already done, I KNOW who I am, and that's the most important part of being confident.

Am I saying that we should all go around without ANYTHING on our faces? WITHOUT cleansing nightly, and putting on that moisturizer. Go to the market without foundation, or mascara, or blush or lipstick?

No, I am NOT saying anything like that.

I'm just saying that, we have to place our confidence above the makeup and onto ourselves.

It makes for a better person.Happier and more grounded.

I know --

I know that a lot of women like to leave their makeup on overnight so that when they wake up in the morning they don't scare themselves when they look in the mirror. Well, that's what they say anyway. I think they really don't want to scare their significant others, their spouses or their children. Babies cry enough without being scared when they first wake up.

So what does that do to your confidence when you look in that mirror every morning and see the mascara under your eyes instead of on the lashes? Or half the foundation is on your face and the other half is on the pillow case.

What do you FEEL like when you see the ravages of left over makeup on your face?

Well, it sure isn't confident!!!

If you have the correct cleansing system, you can clean your face AND moisturize in less than 10 minutes.

Your children would rather see a clean face than one that is leftover from last night.

Nothing is good the next morning cold---except pizza!!!

And you GIRLFRIEND are not pizza.

YOU are a beautiful, vibrant woman with lots to give to all those who live with you.

Make the best of it-----

WASH your face and be PROUD!!!

Be Honest with yourself!!

Honestly--how many of us have gone to bed with our makeup on?

Every night for a week?

Raise your hand!

ME!!! and I know better.

Your skin will not age 10 years for every night you don't cleanse your skin.  It will just be very dry or oily depending on your skin type.

I know women who NEVER cleanse their face because of Roseacea or because they just don't know what to use.

One tip is this -- if you get bumps around the jaw line after using a cleanser then you are using the wrong product NOT because you are allergic to it.

Allergic reaction of face cleansers, foundations or creams will make your skin burn and become very red and tender.

If a product breaks your skin out into lots of bumps it could be a combination of lots of things.

And that's why Mary Kay has consultants -- so we can work with you to find the BEST product for YOUR skin.

The BEGINNING!!!

Like Alice in Wonderland I am going to begin at the beginning and go on to the end and stop.

The beginning to feeling SASSY is good skin.

Not JUST your face---but your whole ENTIRE body.

This takes a little dong but is well worth it.

Skin flakes off -- or if it doesn't it settles in certain places and just holds on tight-- until someone loosens it.

That's what is called EXFOLIATION. And to exfoliate you either use a dremel tool to get that extra skin off -- or you use an exfoliater. A non harsh way to get to the problem.

And it leaves your skin feeling SOOOOO good!!

As I am a Mary Kay consultant I recommend our Microdermabrasion set for your face. For the arms, legs, feet, torso -- and other parts that I will not name, I recommend the scented sugar scrub.

When I take the time to get rid of all that dry skin, I feel like I could take a jet ski to the moon.

Have you ever??

Have you ever gone to your makeup drawer and couldn't open it because there was too much STUFF in there??

Well, sister of mine, let me tell you about Mary Kay Cosmetics.

As a consultant with Mary Kay I know a lot of things about the BEST for your skin.

As an artist I know even more about what colors YOU need.

That all adds up to a drawer that has what you need---and no more.

Doesn't that sound good to you??

The only way I will know if this blog is gonna work is if you will click on and tell everyone you know about it.

Thanks!!
